The Sermon Present:
The Sermon put on an exhibition last month featuring the work of a variety of upand coming creatives. Talent from a range of fields were showcased; from
fashion design, to art, to photography. The exhibition succeeded in providing a space for artists to present their hard work while networking with like-minded people.
Despite the mix of artistic disciplines, one overall theme prevailed: unapologetic and overlooked beauty. Photographer Gillian Murray captured the natural beauty of black women, whilst Meg Phel used her photos to glorify the female body close up in its bare, natural form. Artist Florencegivenart used her paintings of cartoon women to comment on feminism and racism. The fashion brand Axiiom used the space to exhibit their luxurious and extravagant hand-made clothing.
With everyone coming together to talk about their work and network with other artists, it was a really inspiring and exciting event full of really talented people.Be sure to Check out the pictures to see all the great work that was on display at the exhibition. We’re looking forward to see what The Sermon have coming up next!
