Catch up with jords

Jords recently released his his short film, Almost An Adult, shot in Jamaica and London. The stunning visuals directed by Curtis Essel & Nwabugo feature singles taken from the upcoming project, out 15th May.  Ahead of his release, we caught up with him to see how he's doing.

How are you doing during this period?

I’m doing okay you know. I think it’s very important to always make the best out of whatever situation we are in

What are you doing to stay sane and keep creative?

I’m always creating. If its not music it’s content. I’m keeping a journal aswell, and not trying to force myself to be creative just because this situation. I think it’s also important that we learn how to take a break.

What have you been doing to stay entertained?

I’ve read Natives by Akala. Stunning book, and I’ve been reading Paulo Coelho, The Pilgrimage also. Obviously everyone’s watching Money Heist so I’ve done the same

Have you learnt anything new about yourself in this period?

I like my own company. And thats very reassuring.

It’s a hard time for a lot of people, any advice to people who are finding it difficult?

Try and stay active. Not necessarily fitness, but that could mean just going for a walk, or writing down your thoughts.

How do you think the government is handling the crisis? I think they are doing the best they can NOW, but I also feel they acted way too slow in response to this. Should have been prepared a long long time ago. I also believe that they need to do way more than just clap for the NHS.

This is a perfect time for people who haven’t heard of you to go and listen to your catalogue, where would u suggest they start?

Watch the almost an adult film. Then listen to Almost an Adult and work your way backwards.
